| Founded as a nonprofit educational corporation in 1958, the Monterey Jazz Festival-the longest running jazz festival in the world-is dedicated to perpetuating the uniquely American form of music known as jazz by producing performances that celebrate the legacy and expand the boundaries of jazz as well as producing year-round community, national and international jazz education programs.
We are a not-for-profit organization. We have had previous internship experience referred from the Berklee College of Music and the California State University Monterey Bay; Canada and South America. | |
| Description: | Internship positions are full-time, unpaid and are 3 or more months in duration from June through mid-September. Interns will have the opportunity to gain practical hands-on experience in Festival Production, Music Presentation as well as other departments including Development, Education, and Marketing. Positions are typically unpaid, but a small stipend may be available; college credit may be available – applicant should check with academic institution.
A car is not required as we are near public transportation, but a car would be useful as we are in a suburban area. Mileage is not reimbursed. Housing is not available.

| Eligibility: | All qualified applicants are considered including high school students and individuals who are not in an academic program. Applicants should be highly motivated, hard-working individuals with strong organizational and computer skills as well as the ability to multi-task, work under some Festival stress, and interact well with a variety of people. English fluency required for all applicants. |
| Application: | Our internships start in early summer and end at the end of the festival in mid-September. International applicants are responsible for visa, paperwork, and accommodations.
